He anchored the weather out of the Myrtle Beach studios at 6 and 11, Monday-Friday. Van spent one year, three months at WBTW News (January 1989 to March 1990) to join the WGHP Fox affiliate station in North Carolina. He has been at the station for 31 years now. Van is now the chief meteorologist at Fox 8 WGHP News in North Carolina. He also anchors 5 pm, 6 pm, 10 pm, and 11 pm Monday to Friday newscasts.
