Monique Ming Laven is an  American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter at KIRO 7 in Seattle, Washington. She co-anchors KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at 5 and 11 p.m. every weekday alongside Steve Raible and Morgan Palmer, a chief meteorologist. She joined the station in 2006.

Ming joined KIRO 7 in June 2006 where she works as an anchor and reporter. During the week, she splits her time between anchoring and reporting. During her time at KIRO 7, she has reported on varied major stories from the field including spring snowstorms on Stevens Pass and the shooting spree at Virginia Tech. She reported live on the Amanda Knox trial and verdict from Perugia, Italy in 2009. The coverage of that story won KIRO 7 an Emmy Award and a National Headliner Award for Breaking News.

She also anchored a holiday season shooting at Westfield South center coverage on KIRO 7 which won the station an Emmy Award and a National Headliner Award for Best Newscast. Ming has presented some of Western Washington’s biggest news stories from the desk including extended coverage during the Lakewood police officers’ shootings, the murder of Seattle police officer Timothy Brenton and the shootings at Marysville Pilchuck High School.

Before joining KIRO 7, she had worked at various stations as an evening anchor and reporter: WCMH in Columbus, Ohio, WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin, and 6News in Lawrence, Kansas. During her time in the Midwest states, she traveled to New York City to cover the September 11 terrorist attacks.
