Andrews met ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who had read her work at The Beacon, before an NBA Summer League game in 2017. She interned at the Denver Post before joining The New York Times as a James Reston Reporting Fellow in the sports section.

She was one of the first reporters to enter the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex for the 2019–20 NBA season in the Bubble in 2020. Andrews hosted a virtual interview with the top draftees during the 2020 NBA select show.

Andrews was announced as ABC’s sideline reporter for the NBA Finals coverage on July 6, 2021, replacing Rachel Nichols, who was fired after recordings of Nichols denigrating the network’s promotion of commentator Maria Taylor as the lead host of the Finals was released.
