Dallas joined the Royal Shakespeare Company after graduating from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in England, and then went on to work with the Royal National Theatre, English National Opera, the New Shakespeare Company, and the Young Vic. After returning to the United States, he was cast as Fandral in Thor in 2011 after Irish actor Stuart Townsend dropped out only days before filming was set to begin. Because Dallas was a relatively unknown actor at the time of his casting, there was conjecture that he was chosen because there was just not enough time to locate a bigger-name alternative. In 2011, Dallas debuted as Prince Charming in the ABC series Once Upon a Time. In the Thor sequel, Dallas did not repeat his part. In the following two films, Zachary Levi took his place. Dallas ended its run in 2017 after six seasons. He would, however, return the following year for the series finale.
