Originally from Baton Rouge, La., he got a TV bug at a young age. In reality, at the age of five, he made his debut in front of the camera on a weekly local segment called Thinking for the Day on WVLA-TV.
But it wasn’t until 1978 when Isiah knew that he needed to be a TV anchor. That’s when a local TV journalist talked to his class and inspired Isiah to approach the Baton Rouge TV station looking for a summer job. He got a job and worked at that station every summer, without credit, before he went to college.
In education, Isiah continued his career in broadcasting. He was a news anchor and editor for the city’s WXOK-AM radio before graduating from Southern University in Baton Rouge. By 1990, Isiah was the news chief and anchor at KQXL-AM and WYCT-FM, where he operated a minor news agency.
The same year, Isiah was offered his first serious TV job as a reporter and a public affairs talk show host at WVLA. In 1991, he joined WAFB-TV, the same station he had shaded as a third grader. He’s been there for four years. In September 2001, he joined KRIV-TV. Throughout his work in journalism, Isiah has received a number of awards, including Emmy and the Society of Professional Journalists.
