Gene Lavanchy is an American tv and radio personality. He currently works as a co-host of WFXT’s Boston 25 Morning News in Boston. Gene co-hosts the show along with Kim Carrigan. Prior to becoming a WTXT employee, he served as a sports director as well as a sports anchor at Channel 7/WHDH7. Gene also served as a sportscaster for Rhode Island, Florida, as well as Massachusetts television stations. He and his fellow broadcast journalist Dave Briggs served as sportscasters for Boston television stations.  After graduating with a broadcast journalism degree at Emerson College,  Gene launched his career by working at WJCC-AM radio station based in Norfolk, Massachusetts.

Gene is an active member of the community. An active board member of the Friends of Walpole Community Athletic Complex. The group works tirelessly to raise money and build new fields at Walpole High School as well as make improvements at recreational sports fields all over the city.
