Fernanda is a Querétaro native who received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Texas A&M University Texarkana. In 2015, she was named Undergrad of the Year, and in 2019, she was honored with the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.
Fernanda began her media career as an intern at TXK Today News, a local online news company in Texarkana. She then moved on to work full-time as a general assignment reporter for TXK Today, where she honed her skills as a journalist and honed her skills in the production of real-time and expected news in the form of written copy and video. Fernanda accepted a Multi-Media Account Executive position with KTAL NBC 6 in 2017, allowing her to focus on media marketing and delivering unique broadcast television marketing programs.
Fernanda also worked for NBC 6 as a talent, appearing in local commercials, voiceovers, studio interviews, and commercial script authoring. She also contributed to local magazines such as Four States Living Magazine as a freelance writer. Fernanda has immersed herself in Louisiana culture since moving here, and she attempts to highlight the beauty of the Ark-La-Tex people, their triumphs, and their efforts to make this a beautiful place to live.
