John Christopher Lowe, popularly known as Chris Lowe is a retired Scottish-born news presenter who worked for BBC News for 37 years before his retirement on 4 January 2009. BBC News 24 was covered by Lowe with Joanna Gosling on Friday from 1830 to 2200 and on Saturday and Sunday from 1900 to 0000. He joined the BBC as a graduate journalist trainee in 1972, the same day as Jeremy Paxman.

His last work for the BBC before his retirement in 2009 saw him appear on the BBC News Channel between 7 pm and 10 pm on Fridays and between 7 pm and 12 midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.
