Previously, Carter spent four years working as a business correspondent for CNN. Before that, he served as a reporter for WWOR TV 9 for a period of one year. His career journey began in 1995 where he worked for KGMB, the CBS affiliate in Honolulu, Hawaii serving as a freelance correspondent.
