She began her journalism career at the Ben Davis Area 31 Career Center TV and radio program when she was a junior in high school.
She went on to earn a broadcast journalism degree from Indiana University’s Media School. She is a huge basketball lover for the Indiana Hoosiers. After three years of competing in the annual Little 500 event, she developed a passion for cycling.
Her first work in journalism was with WLFI News 18 in Lafayette, Indiana. She spent three years there as a Weekend Anchor/Producer and Multimedia Journalist. She covered legislative sessions in Indiana, local homicide and court proceedings, and the impact of COVID-19 on north-central Indiana on a regular basis. For a story she did on the epidemic, she was nominated for an Indiana Broadcasters Association Spectrum News award in 2020.
